History
As a 15-year-old, Ivar started his career in tool manufacturing at a small tool company in Forsheda. He quickly developed an interest in working with tool solutions. Ivar’s boss saw his potential and offered him an opportunity to develop construction solutions in close partnership with management. This led to Ivar later being given a role as supervisor over a team of 6–7 people. The experience laid the foundation for a growing interest in starting his own tool company, which became a reality in the early ‘80s.
In 1983, the company Ivars Verktyg was first registered. Pre-owned machines were bought in and made ready for operation. Ivar built premises to operate from, along with his two brothers. Ivar then shared the machine hall that was built on their parents’ farm in Fänestad, outside Forsheda, with his two brothers.
The years went by and the tool manufacturing continued. The company eventually began to outgrow the machine hall and Ivar and his brothers decided to build a double garage next to Ivar’s home in Forsheda. A newly purchased sinker EDM and a manual lathe were installed and, a year later, a controlled milling machine was also installed.
At the start of the ‘90s, an idea was born of collecting the machinery into a newly built workshop. In 1995, construction began, resulting in a premises of 540 square metres along the National Highway 27. The same year, Ivar’s son, Sören, started working as a toolmaker after 3 years of training.
Over 30 years later, Ivar’s tools still supply die-casting tools of the highest quality and have supplied tools for manufacturing products to, among others, Scania, Bofors and Volvo. Today, the company is owned and run by Sören, who has over 22 years of experience in tool manufacturing.
